AkzoNobel plans for a bitchin’ presence with Dave Kindig at SEMA 2023 in Vegas

27-10-2023

A larger indoor exhibit space, an outdoor exhibit space, twice daily autograph sessions with Dave Kindig, educational presentations, Carbeat® demonstrations ‒ and an exciting celebrity car unveiling.

AkzoNobel, a leading provider of vehicle refinishing products, today announced its programming for the 2023 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, and Dave Kindig, television star of MotorTrend Network’s Bitchin’ Rides show, now in its 10th season, and creator of custom car company, Kindig-it Design, will once again play a major role. SEMA takes place from Oct. 31 – Nov. 3, 2023, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. AkzoNobel will have a booth inside Central Hall, dedicated to Sikkens and its patented, state-of-the-art, digital body shop workflow control solution Carbeat® (booth #22957). AkzoNobel Acoat Selected service consultants will be on hand to meet with customers and provide Carbeat demonstrations each day of the show. In addition, AkzoNobel’s booth will feature two amazing builds by Kindig-it Design, one of which is a celebrity’s vehicle, built by Kindig-it Design and painted in Modern Classikk, that will be unveiled at 9:15am on day one of SEMA . The other featured AkzoNobel booth vehicle is a red hot Kindig-it custom roadster painted with Sikkens, AkzoNobel’s flagship automotive refinish paint brand.

Outside Central Hall in the Silver Lot, AkzoNobel and Kindig-it Design share 2400 square feet of exhibit space (#81070), displaying several one-of-a-kind vehicles, including the Bitchin’ Bronco painted with Sikkens and featured on recent episodes of Bitchin Rides.

“The SEMA Show is the largest event we do, and we’re excited to be contributing in many ways again this year,” says Jen Poliski, Marketing Communications Manager – North America, AkzoNobel Automotive & Specialty Coatings. “Our relationship with Dave Kindig continues to expand and provide a lot of excitement for us; and SEMA provides the best opportunity for us to showcase how he uses our paints to help create his masterpieces.”

Dave Kindig Partnership
Earlier this year, AkzoNobel was excited to announce Dave Kindig as its brand ambassador for Sikkens. As such, Dave will make appearances and sign autographs every day throughout SEMA in the morning at booth #22957 in Central Hall, and in the afternoon at outdoor rig #81070 in the Silver Lot. In addition to daily autograph sessions with Kindig, the AkzoNobel outdoor exhibit will be home to two of Kindig’s CF Roadster masterpieces in addition to the Bitchin’ Bronco mentioned above. Each of these cars feature Modern Classikk paints, which are also the result of Kindig’s partnership with AkzoNobel. The full line of Modern Classikk custom finishes now includes over 40 basecoat colors and four reducers.

AkzoNobel will also have its paint featured on show cars throughout the massive event, including:
