Sikkens Autosurfacer UV and Autoclear Pro Xpress awarded as Best Innovation in Automotive Aftermarket category by World Auto Forum

18-01-2021

We are delighted and honoured to have received Best Innovation - Automotive Aftermarket Category in the 8th World Auto Forum (WAF) Awards for two of our products - Sikkens Autosurfacer UV and Sikkens Autoclear Pro Xpress!

The 8th WAF Awards took place virtually on 9th Jan 2021. This year, WAF expanded the Awards with six new award categories with the aim of becoming more industry inclusive, a move in line with WAF’s philosophy of “one connected automotive ecosystem”. Besides bringing recognition to players behind the automotive sector, the award is also part of WAF’s efforts to enhance industry collaboration, exchange best practices and encourage members to strive for higher achievements.

Award winners were selected via a team of industry experts and the research team from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.

Both Sikkens Autosurfacer UV and Sikkens Autoclear Pro Xpress were developed to help automotive body shops significantly reduce their preparation process time and meet tight turnaround times.

Autosurfacer UV is a one-component, isocyanate free UV curable filler that only requires five minutes of curing by UV light. Consuming up to 50% less paint, it serves to provide bodyshop owners with the conditions needed to increase productivity and yield.

Autoclear Pro Xpress offers a drying time of less than 30 minutes and is formulated to cater to the need for quick-drying and long-lasting clearcoat. Whether it’s a spot repair or an overall respray, bodyshops can rely on the clearcoat to deliver a finish of consistent, best-in-class quality.

Vivek Sahai, National Segment Manager (Bodyshop Business) of AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinish India, comments, “This award validates our efforts in developing new solutions that provide differentiated performance and value-driven benefits for our customers. It demonstrates our commitment to excellence, and we are very grateful for this recognition.”
