Colour Tinting

Advanced practical colour tinting training session consisting of the following topics which will be covered theoretical- and in practical sessions:

  • Ishihara colour blindness*
  • Colour perception
  • Solid colours
  • Metallic and pearl colours

*Colour Blindness test will be executed before training course begins to exclude anyone who is colour blind (no improvement will be seen after this training).

  • Set-up your optimum color process which will increase your overall repair efficiency time
  • Determine if color tinting is really needed within the repair process
  • Effectively correct the color formula in order to achieve the desired color match for the vehicle 
  • Show color matching skill improvement by using a minimum amount of paint and reducing the amount of time needed 

After this training participants will be able to:

  • Determine if colour tinting is really necessary.
  • Explain to painters how to evaluate a colour spray-out and select the right pigment to correct the colour in a short period of time using limited paint material.
  • Demonstrate and explain the tinting process steps while correcting the colour, resulting in a satisfactory colour match.

This advanced UV product application training session will go into details on UV, product features, application specifications and UV drying specifications.

  • Will gain all the required information and practical handling and application skills, product features and benefits in the most beneficial way.
  • Within the day to day repair process be able to use the product and drying equipment to optimise the efficiency of the repair using best methods and techniques.
  • By using the product and equipment to enhance the repair process at the same time reducing energy costs.

After this training participants must be able to:

  • Understand UV products and equipment according to the TDS.
  • Where and when to use UV materials to enhance the overall repair process.
  • Train painters on achieving an invisible repair with UV products.
  • Follow recommended HSE recommendations set out by the manufacturers.

Digital colour process training

The AkzoNobel Tool Training uses the AkzoNobel Colour Process as framework and set-up via a theoretical and practical approach:

  • Introduction on past, present and future colour tools in the market.
  • Brief overview of steps 1-4 of the colour process.
  • Detailed explanation on colour tool development and release.
  • Detailed explanation on colour tool positioning, handling and deliveries in the collision repair shops.
  • Colour and colour tool issues that can relate to filing a colour complaint is integrated in the training modules.
  • Hands-on execution with our spectrophotometers.
    • Colour measurements.
    • Creating spray-out, validating the colour.
    • Explaining the process to the other training participants.

  • The use of Personal Protection Equipment and working safely
  • Products selection
  • Specific Repair processes
  • Equipment selection for Cosmetic Repair

  • Increase and improve the awareness making the Cosmetic Repair Concept one of the flexible work processes for the collision repair shop.
  • Build confidence that, via a structured approach on Cosmetic Repair, an opportunity for AkzoNobel products which are applicable for smaller and single panel repairs.

After this training participants must be able to:

  • Determine where and when the Cosmetic Repair concept applies.
  • Explain to painters how to select the right products and tools for executing the repair in the shortest possible time using a minimum amount of paint products.
